This two-volume set examines the use of sensors and computer vision technologies in the navigation, control, stability, reliability, guidance, fault detection, self-maintenance, strategic re-planning, and reconfiguration of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
Volume 1 focuses on UAS control and performance, covering topics such as computer vision and data storage, integrated optical flow for detection and avoidance, navigation and intelligence, modeling and simulation, multisensor data fusion, vision in micro-aerial vehicles (MAVs), computer vision in UAVs using ROS, security aspects of UAVs and the Robot Operating System, vision for indoor and outdoor drones, sensors and computer vision, and small UAVs for persistent surveillance.
Volume 2 addresses UAS deployment and applications, including UAV-cyber-physical systems (CPS) as testbeds for new technologies and Industry 5.0, human-machine interface design, open source software and hardware, image transmission in MIMO-OSTBC systems, image databases, communication requirements, video streaming and communication links, multispectral versus hyperspectral imaging, aerial imaging and infrastructure reconstruction, deep learning for super resolution imaging, and considerations of Quality of Experience (QoE) and Quality of Service (QoS).
